Nicely distressed Hand Hewn Pine Mantel

This one is nicely distressed from being next to an entry with farm hands and live stock hitting against it over years. White pine is a soft wood so it allows for some nice rustic distressing we like to see in reclaimed wood. There are 2 mortises on 1 side. 1 is filled, and then 2 hinge notches opposite side. Pretty much like the one above but a little longer.

Hand Hewn White Oak Mantel Shelf

Okay! this is a very rare size highly sought after and we never get these out of barns but we did get these very rare oak joists out of a house around the corner from us. Nobody hand hews all 4 sides of a house joists unless these are particularly old and someone took some serious pride in their construction job. Either way we were so delighted to pick these up with all the requests for this size in a hand hewn piece versus circle sawn which is much more common in both houses and barns. Hope you can appreciate these as much as we do. Doubt we will ever get something like these again.
