Nicely distressed Hand Hewn Pine Mantel

6″x6″x6’11”

This one is nicely distressed from being next to an entry with farm hands and live stock hitting against it over years. White pine is a soft wood so it allows for some nice rustic distressing we like to see in reclaimed wood. There are 2 mortises on 1 side. 1 is filled, and then 2 hinge notches opposite side. Pretty much like the one above but a little longer.

Perfect Hand Hewn Red Pine Mantel

Okay, really like this piece. Almost perfect but the back has some bigger checking (crack from drying 150 years ago) as red pine does but no mortises and perfect hand hewn marks not to coarse and not too smooth. Darker patina and the size are nice too.

Love the very old distressed weathered look of this beautiful white pine beam. Lots of nail holes and a few pockets we are sure this will add a intriguing conversation piece to any home. Hand Hewn Basswood Beam

Love three shallow purlin beam rafter notches on the face and bottom of this one. We cut the beam down to center them as we felt that made all the difference. There is a mortises on the back side setting this as the face. The patina really shadows and brings out the adze marks.
